Insecticides Published: December 21, 2011 Reprinted: Last revisions:
For a long time, mankind has used the insecticidal properties of some plants to protect crops from pests. Dried flowers of pyrethrum - Dalmatian chamomile were also used for this purpose. Modern science has synthesized artificial substances that have the same properties as feverfew, and created the insecticide Inta-Vir, which produces a much stronger effect on pests than the dried flowers of feverfew.
If you are looking for a means of dealing with coleoptera, equiptera, lepidoptera pests in the open field and in a greenhouse, then it is Inta-Vir that meets all these requirements. You will learn about the properties of the drug, the method of its use and precautions in working with Inta-Vir from this article.
Pyrethroid Inta-Vir can be used both in personal and suburban areas, and in farms. It is an insecticide and pesticide of intestinal action, the active substance of which is cypermethrin. The drug is produced in tablets of 8 g. Cypermethrin, upon direct contact or after entering the digestive organs of pests, quickly paralyzes their nervous system, insects cannot feed and die after 2-3 days. The drug is effective against:
In total, the insecticide infects about 50 types of pests. The protective effect of Inta-Vira lasts 10-15 days.
The analogs of the drug to one degree or another are Tsinoff, Sherpa, Tsitkor, Tsipershans, Arrivo, Tsimbush, Microcin, Nurep and Ripkord.
Dissolve 1 tablet of the drug in a small amount of water, and then, adding water and constantly stirring the composition, bring the volume of the working solution to the recommended volume. Spray the plants thoroughly, use a freshly prepared solution. Processing is carried out in the evening or in the morning in calm weather. The maximum number of treatments with Inta-Vir is 3, however, in order to avoid the development of resistance in pests, the third treatment, if necessary, is better done with a preparation with another active substance.
It is necessary to process plants with Inta-Vir only after the appearance of pests, since it has a therapeutic, but not prophylactic effect. An apartment is sprayed from cockroaches by dissolving an Inta-Vira tablet in 300-500 ml of water. For fleas, red ants, bed bugs and other domestic insects, the apartment is treated with a solution of 1 tablet of the drug in 600 ml of water.

Inta-Vir - moderately hazardous substance belonging to the 3rd class. This means that the drug is not phytotoxic, not very dangerous for mammals, but dangerous for bees and other pollinators, therefore, it is categorically not recommended to carry out processing during flowering. It is possible to release bees to the treated areas only 4-5 days after spraying Inta-Vira. Inta-Vir is also highly toxic for aquatic organisms, therefore it is forbidden to work with the drug in the fishery zone, that is, within a radius of 2000 meters from water bodies.
It is necessary to carry out the treatment with the Inta-Vir working solution in protective clothing and shoes, glasses, a mask and gloves. Do not drink, eat or smoke during the procedure. When finished, wash your hands and face with soap, rinse your mouth, change clothes, rinse accessories in soapy water, and wash clothes well.
In case of drug poisoning, you must immediately provide the victim with first aid, and then immediately consult a doctor!
If the drug gets inside, rinse your mouth with water or a weak solution of potassium permanganate, drink 15-20 g of activated carbon with several glasses of water and take a mineral laxative. If after a while the symptoms of poisoning have not disappeared, consult a Poison Control Center.
Inta-Vir should be stored in a dry place out of the reach of children and animals, as far as possible from food and medicine at temperatures from -10 to +40 ºC, shelf life - 4 years. Opened packaging and the rest of the working solution must be disposed of.
Oktyabrina: a very effective drug, especially if you carry out the treatment at the very beginning of the pest occupation of your site. One spraying was enough for me to clear my garden and country house from parasites.
Aristarch: this year the Colorado potato beetle almost ate my young tomatoes. I bought Inta-Vir on the advice of neighbors, made a solution, sprayed the beds after sunset, and in the morning found that the danger had passed. More bugs did not appear in my garden this summer.
Olga Semyonovna: the drug is excellent, very reliable. I am still a beginner in the dacha business, but now I already have some experience of defeating pests thanks to Inta-Viru.

Ammophos is a complex fertilizer that allows plants to cope with the deficiency of such important elements as nitrogen and phosphorus. It is often used for feeding, since the active components in the composition easily dissolve in water, assimilating without difficulty. Fertilizer can be used in an emergency, when a lack of nutrients is noticeable, or as planned during a period of active growth.
Intavir is a hazard class 3 insecticide. The active ingredient is cypermethrin, which belongs to the pyrethroid group and is recognized worldwide as a sanitary and household insecticide and acaricide for indoor and outdoor use.
Cypermethrin, upon contact with an insect, affects its nervous system, as a result, communication with the internal organs and muscles is lost, they begin to work in a discordant manner, causing paralysis and death in the insect.
The advantages of the drug include:
However, the drug also has disadvantages.
You should not hope for a miracle if even several pests are noticed on the crops grown, because if you do nothing, then in a week their population can reach unimaginable proportions. In addition, experienced gardeners prefer not to wait for the appearance of uninvited guests, treating plants even before flowering and fruiting for preventive purposes.
At the same time, the maximum efficiency can be observed when fighting representatives of such families as Homoptera, Coleoptera and Lepidoptera, which in Latin means "Homoptera", "Coleoptera" and "Lepidoptera".
It is also worth remembering that an absolutely non-phytotoxic (that is, safe for plants) drug is capable of providing a protective effect for a maximum period of up to two weeks.
This means that after the specified period, re-processing may be necessary. In addition, Intavir does not work for mite etching without the ability to penetrate the protective shell of these pests. That is why it is not necessary to transfer the agent to the fight against such parasites, and even more so to cover the plants with bags, giving preference instead to broad-acting acaricides.
For effective pest control, it is necessary to properly prepare the solution. Having studied the instructions and strictly following its recommendations, it will not be difficult to prepare the mixture. Crops are treated with a knapsack sprayer.
Any plants can be treated with a solution of "Prophylactin" without the risk of harming them.
The solution is prepared at the rate of 1 bottle (500 ml) per 10 liters of liquid. The product is poured into water, then the mixture must be thoroughly mixed. The resulting solution must be processed on the same day. It is strictly forbidden to use Prophylactin in conjunction with other drugs.
Plants can be sprayed when the air temperature rises to + 4 ° C. The solution consumption depends on the age of the culture and its size. For bushes, 1.5 liters is enough, and for trees - from 2 to 5 liters.
Detailed instructions and all related information in an accessible form are set out on the packaging of Prophylactin. The drug must not be stored or transported near food, medicine and animal feed.
Before starting processing, it is recommended to carefully protect the respiratory system, eyes and skin... Long-sleeved clothing, trousers or sweatpants, a mask or respirator, goggles and a hat will be the best option when working with the sprayer. During the processing of plants, it is strictly forbidden to smoke, drink and eat.
Prophylactin is an effective insecticide that is used to treat fruit trees and bushes before budding. Early processing helps to ensure that no trace of pesticides remains at the time of harvest.
During the procedure, precautions must be taken. This is necessary in order not to harm the environment and human health:
Whenever treating the garden with chemicals, you must strictly adhere to safety precautions
To store the herbicide, the Master must choose a closed room where the temperature is maintained from +15 to +20 degrees and low air humidity. It must be protected from direct sunlight. Even with a slight wetting or freezing, the dry mixture by 25% becomes unusable, that is, its effectiveness decreases, and some compounds are destroyed.
Subject to the conditions and tightness of the packaging, the shelf life of the Master feed is 5 years. Before sending the composition for storage, it is recommended to pour it from a paper or plastic bag into a glass container, seal it tightly with a lid.
