Farmer potatoes on your backyard

Potatoes have long become one of the most important crops grown in our latitudes. Modern breeding offers varieties that, in addition to good taste, have such necessary characteristics as resistance to unfavorable weather conditions, diseases and pests, high yields, quick ripening, appearance and size of tubers, and their good storage for a long time. We suggest you consider the Farmer potato variety, which fully meets the specified criteria.

Potato Farmer: variety description (with photo)

Table potatoes Farmer are classified as hybrids of very early ripening periods. Within 50-60 days after planting, you can safely harvest. This period can be significantly reduced (up to almost 40 days) if you properly store the seed tubers in a cool dry place, and the vegetative period of plant growth occurs under favorable weather conditions - warm, sunny summer with regular, not prolonged rains.

For the Farmer, the most favorable air temperature is 15–20 ° C; good soil moisture is also important. Thanks to this, the variety is adapted to growing in almost any region of Russia and many CIS countries with a temperate to sharply continental climate. Of course, in the southern regions, the Farmer's potatoes ripen faster and give higher yields.

Potato Farmer grows well in almost all regions of Russia

The Farmer variety was never included in the State Register of the Russian Federation. It is the result of folk selection - continuous artificial selection.

The variety in question has shown itself well when grown both in private gardens and on farms on an industrial scale. Another advantage is its resistance to degeneration. Seed tubers can be taken from the previous harvest for 5-6 years without renewing.

Qualitative characteristics

The potato Farmer is an erect, medium-sized shrub, its branches are not spreading. The bright green leaves have well-defined veins and slightly wavy edges. Large white flowers are collected in a compact corolla. The tops retain their juiciness along with the flowers for a very long time, up to 90 days from the moment of germination.

The yield is assessed as high: each hectare will yield from 200 centners of selected tubers with high taste characteristics. Root crops have an oval-elongated shape, they are mostly large, with a minimum amount of unmarketable fines. One bush can form from 10 to 15 potatoes weighing 90-110 g.

Each potato bush The farmer produces up to 15 large tubers

The skin of the tuber is light yellow, smooth and thin, the color is uniform. The eyes are small, shallow, close to the surface. Pale yellow pulp contains only 12% starch and a large amount of nutrients: protein, amino acids, fiber. The tubers do not crumble during cooking, the flesh retains its shape when fried, so Farmer potatoes are great for any dishes, even semi-finished products, for example, frozen slices of fries.

Pale yellow flesh of potatoes The farmer contains little starch, therefore it does not crumble during heat treatment

The Farmer variety is not afraid of diseases typical for most nightshades. It is resistant to:

  • golden cyst nematode;
  • potato crayfish;
  • fungi;
  • viruses.

A long stay in the soil after full maturation can lead to late blight, so it is recommended not to postpone the harvest. For prevention purposes, it is recommended to water the soil with fungicides and pickle the seed before planting.

The Farmer potato tubers are distinguished by high keeping quality, although the variety belongs to early maturing. For several months they do not lose their presentation, do not wrinkle and do not germinate if stored at a temperature of + 2 ... + 5 ° C in a dark, well-ventilated room.

Growing potatoes from seeds

Seed propagation of potatoes is somewhat more difficult than the traditional planting of tubers from the previous crop, but it is also possible. Its peculiarity is that the harvest of the first year will be relatively small, but in the second year it will become stably high.

Potatoes Farmer are successfully grown from seed

Growing potatoes from seeds, you will face certain difficulties.

  1. Potato seedlings have a weak root system, it is difficult for them to germinate through the soil. Therefore, it is necessary to provide a very soft, lightweight soil with high air permeability. You can use store-bought soil for seedlings or grow on wet sawdust.
  2. Since potato seedlings are small, thin and fragile, they need good lighting. It must be sufficient for the shoots to strengthen and begin to grow. Please note that with a distant light source, the seedlings can be very stretched and weakened. You should also very carefully carry out the pick and transplant so as not to damage the sprouts and their roots.
  3. At the beginning of growth, potato seedlings are susceptible to black leg disease. To avoid contamination, take preventive measures by treating the sprouts and soil with black yeast or trichodermine.

Seed preparation

  1. Before starting sowing, the seeds should be soaked so that germination takes place faster. It is recommended to do this at the same time as hardening. Scatter the seeds over a saucer and cover with a little water. Keep the saucer at room temperature during the day and refrigerate overnight. These activities must be carried out within 2 days.
  2. Drain the water, and spread the seeds on a piece of cotton cloth and put in a warm place. You should not use gauze for these purposes: it has large cells, and thin roots that have sprouted from small seeds will get entangled in them and break.

Before planting, potato seeds need to be soaked and germinated.

  3. When the seeds germinate, sow them in a container with seedling soil as follows: evenly place them on the surface and lightly sprinkle with sand. Weak shoots may not break through the dense soil layer.
  4. Water the container with the planted seeds and make a greenhouse over it, covering it with glass or plastic wrap. Place in a warm place with even lighting. Do not allow the soil to dry out, moisten it regularly, but not abundantly, so that the delicate roots do not start to rot. Raise the foil for 15 minutes every day to air the seedlings.
  5. Seedlings can appear in 3 days, and sometimes they have to wait up to 2 weeks. Keep the seed container in a warm, draft-free place all this time. Remember that window sills are not the best time for young seedlings: it is still cold outside during this period, and cold air comes from the glass, which has a bad effect on the growth of seedlings.

Seedlings can appear both after 3 days and after 2 weeks.

Dive seedlings

The sprouts are ready for picking and transplanting from the moment when 2 true leaves appear on them. For potatoes of the Farmer variety, the picking process can be skipped and the bushes can be immediately planted in different pots. Make sure to make drainage holes in the bottoms of the containers.

When transplanting seedlings, carefully pour them with a phytosporin solution along the edge of the container, so that the liquid does not get on the shoots (this can lead to a black leg disease).

Water the seedlings so that water does not fall on the leaves, and the soil is always slightly moist.

The soil in the pots should always be slightly damp, but not wet. This will allow the seedlings to grow and root before transplanting them into open ground.

Landing in open ground

When the threat of frost ends (this usually happens towards the end of May), plant the seedlings in a permanent bed. By this time, 4–5 adult leaves are already formed on each sprout, and the root system will become sufficiently developed. If sharp cold snaps still occur in your region during this period, you can cover the potato garden with a film, creating a greenhouse over it.

  1. Dig holes about 10 cm deep. Observe the distance between them, depending on the desired result: for a large number of medium-sized tubers, 20 cm will be enough, and for large tubers to grow, 50-70 cm will be needed.
  2. Add humus to each hole and pour in a large amount of water. When planting seedlings, deepen it so that 3 leaves remain above the soil.
  3. If your site has heavy clay soil, it must be lightened by mixing with sawdust, sand or humus in a 1: 1 ratio. This is necessary for good rooting of the bush and its proper development.

Seed-grown potatoes require little maintenance. Standard measures: weed the plantings on time, thoroughly loosen the soil, and huddle 2-3 times a season.

Pay special attention to the fight against the Colorado potato beetle. Experience shows that he eats plants planted by seedlings in the first place. Over the summer, you will have to process potatoes against the beetle 5-6 times.

Colorado potato beetle poses great danger to seed-grown potatoes

Reviews of the Farmer variety from Internet users

It is very difficult to choose a potato variety that you would like in all respects. My husband and I decided to experiment and bought Farmer potato seeds, 5 gram bags each, costing 13 rubles. The first year of planting brought a crop from one bag of 4 kilograms (we planted 5 bags). The potatoes were slightly larger than a hen's egg, smooth and pleasant yellowish in color. The next year we planted something that grew from seed. The harvest pleased us: 4 buckets grew for 1 bucket of seed potatoes. The potatoes surprised both externally and taste: smooth, large potatoes (the size of a fist), perfectly stored, not boiled, boiled when cutting does not stick together, dishes from this potato are fragrant and tasty. Our family came to the conclusion that we will continue to plant only Farmer potatoes and hope that the amount of the harvest will increase. Of course, removing potatoes from seeds is a little problematic and time-consuming, but it's worth it!

Whatever one may say, but without potatoes, you can't go anywhere, this is the second bread, and now the 'Farmer' potato appeared on the market, a very good potato. Recommend. It gives a good harvest from one bush from nine to fifteen potatoes, of course the soil, fertilizers and watering play an important role. If you follow everything, then you will get an excellent harvest. The potatoes are stored for six months, they do not deteriorate, they are suitable for frying for boiling, they have not eaten anything like that, I recommend that you purchase the seeds of these potatoes and plant them in order to harvest a rich harvest. Well, if you have nowhere to plant then buy it just for eating, bon appetit.

I have one variety - Farmer. Some survived in the scorching heat, some disappeared altogether, then they grew up again when the rain passed. And now it has withstood the heat in different directions. I am more surprised that she grows trunks so intensively when it is time for her to grow tubers. Ordinary potatoes that have grown (in the sense of stems) - that is, more in attempts to grow tops was not noticed. It is necessary to look at the information about this Farmer, maybe he has such a peculiarity, or he really wanted to live after our drought. In general, I planted her already with nodules, somewhere with a quail egg.

I have a Farmer, but I bought him with tubers in a seed shop. Therefore, I can not vouch for the authenticity of the variety. But in terms of yield, I really liked it! And the bushes are green until the frost.

Farmer potatoes will certainly delight you with unpretentious care and high yields. And thanks to the method of growing from seeds, you can always independently update the planting material. In addition, early maturation of potatoes will allow you to grow them for sale when many other varieties are just entering the period of tuber formation.

Potatoes Zhuravinka: variety description, photos, reviews

Holland is considered to be an exemplary agricultural country. It is not for nothing that Dutch tulips and other flowers are considered to be the best; Dutch varieties of vegetables are very popular all over the world.

And Dutch potato varieties have always been famous for their yield and resistance to infections. But not only Holland can boast of its potatoes. For Belarus, potatoes are almost a national symbol.

And, of course, the potato varieties bred in Belarus are not much inferior to their Dutch counterparts.

Zhuravinka's potatoes are a clear example of what Belarusian breeding in potato growing can achieve. Many indicators of this variety, such as yield, disease resistance, keeping quality, are quite at the level of world standards.

Description of the variety

It is logical to begin the description of the Zhuravinka potato variety with the history of its creation. The variety was bred by Belarusian breeders in collaboration with Russian farmers from the Niva farm more than 10 years ago. In 2005, he was registered in the Russian State Register of Breeding Achievements.

The patent was issued at the RUE SPC NAS of Belarus for potato and horticulture. The Zhuravinka variety was recommended for use in the North-West, Central and Volgo-Vyatka regions. Thus, this potato is zoned everywhere from the Vologda Oblast to the Perm Krai.

However, thanks to the versatility and many valuable qualities of this variety, it is successfully grown in other regions of our country.

The bushes of Zhuravinka potatoes themselves are low, the shoots are strong, erect. The leaves are small in size with fairly well-defined veins, while the anthocyanin color predominates at the central vein. A slight waviness runs along the edge of the leaves. Each bush forms up to six stems.

The inflorescences are large and beautiful, the corollas are purple-red. Berries with seeds are rarely formed. Seedlings when planting appear very amicably, and the aerial part in the first period of development grows very intensively. The root system also develops rapidly in the first month after planting.

Variety characteristics

The Zhuravinka potato variety is medium late, which means that it usually takes from 90 to 110 days from planting to harvest.

Productivity is one of the greatest advantages of the Zhuravinka variety. On average, it is about 400-600 centners per hectare. But it is known that it is quite realistic to receive up to 700 centners. This figure is quite comparable with the yield indicators of the best potato varieties from Holland.

Attention! One bush of Zhuravinka potatoes gives on average 15-20 medium and large tubers.

It is important that, other things being equal, we can talk about the stability of such yield indicators. That is, it does not depend as much on environmental conditions as in other potato varieties.

If we talk about such a characteristic of potatoes as its safety, then here the indicators are also at a high level.

The keeping quality of tubers is estimated at 96%, which means that by spring only about 4% of potato tubers are in poor condition.

The rest do not lose their commercial characteristics and when used for food, they practically do not differ from tubers freshly picked in autumn.

An important positive feature of the Zhuravinka variety is that the tubers tolerate mechanical damage well.

Separately, it is worth emphasizing the rather high resistance of this potato variety to various diseases. It completely resists potato crayfish and golden nematode, shows sufficient resistance to damage by scab, black leg and some viruses, as well as late blight of tubers. Resistance to rhizoctonia and late blight of the aerial part is low.

Tuber characteristics

The tubers of this variety are quite varied in appearance.

  • The shape can be either oval-round or just round. The surface of the tubers is smooth, and sometimes it is embossed, covered with a kind of mesh.
  • The peel has a pronounced red color, while the flesh is light yellow.
  • The eyes are small, evenly distributed over the surface of the tuber.
  • The tubers of this variety, the photo of which is presented below, are quite large, up to 300 grams. Although the average size ranges from 92 to 145 grams.
  • By the amount of starch in tubers, the Zhuravinka variety is also a leader. Its content can vary from 14.8 to 20%. With such a high starch content, the tubers of this variety can well be used for industrial processing and production of potato starch. The pulp of Zhuravinka potatoes does not darken after heat treatment and boils well.
  • The taste of potatoes is excellent. A wide variety of dishes can be prepared from Zhuravinka. This variety is used in the industrial production of potato chips.
  • The marketability of the variety is also quite good, from 83 to 97%. This indicator determines the number of tubers suitable for consumption when digging potatoes.

Growing features

The preparation of Zhuravinka potato tubers for planting does not fundamentally differ from other varieties. As a rule, a few weeks before planting, the tubers are removed from the storage area, sorted out and laid out in boxes for vernalization.

Since resistant potato varieties to the Colorado potato beetle have not yet been invented, it is possible to process the tubers before planting with Prestige or Commander preparations. This will increase the degree of protection of potato plants from colorado and other pests several times.

True, the protection usually acts only before flowering, subsequently it will be necessary to carry out treatment with any suitable insecticide at least once again.

Soils for growing Zhuravinka potatoes are suitable for any, but this variety has a negative attitude towards an excess of nitrogen fertilizers in soils, so it is better to underfeed than overfeed.

Zhuravinka potatoes grow well only in areas fully illuminated by the sun. This factor must also be taken into account when choosing a place for planting potatoes.

Due to the large number of tubers in the bush, planting potatoes must be done more sparsely than for other varieties. The row spacing should be at least 60 cm, and it is better to leave 70 cm. In this case, it will be possible to carry out a full hilling of the bushes.

Their ventilation will increase and each bush will receive more sunlight as a result, which will definitely have a positive effect on productivity. In the case of a usual thickened planting, Zhuravinka potato bushes will in any case please with a large number of tubers.

But the size of these tubers will be so small that it will be more rational to use it as animal feed.

Zhuravinka potatoes emerge very amicably and are distinguished by powerful and rapid growth of both the aboveground and underground parts, in the first month of their development. It is during this period, before flowering, that additional moisture is very desirable for him. And although it tolerates short-term periods of drought, this cannot but affect the yield.

Interestingly, the increased moisture content in the soil is also not very popular with Zhuravinka's potatoes. In such conditions, outbreaks of diseases are possible, therefore, if the summer is too rainy, then preventive treatments with fungicides, for example, Fundazol, are necessary.

Reviews of gardeners

Gardeners throughout Russia like to plant Zhuravinka potatoes, so there are many reviews, and they are different, but generally positive.

Victoria, 28 years old, Victoria, 28 years old

We have been planting Zhuravinka for 3 years already. We like it very much so far. Potatoes have a wonderful taste and, most importantly, they are well kept.

The only thing that is bad for our latitudes (Non-Chernozem zone) is that it grows too long - after all, it is a late variety.

But there is also an advantage in this - you do not have to dig out all the potatoes at one time, but you collect different varieties at different times. After all, we plant on our site every year 30-36 varieties at a time.

Mikhail, 34 years old, Nevinnomyssk

In our family, everyone is very fond of Zhuravinka potatoes, so for several years in a row we have been planting only it. But last summer was very dry, in June there was no rain, in general, and we ended up a little disappointed in the harvest - there were very few potatoes, and the one that grew was mostly small. Now we are thinking of planting several different varieties so as not to get into such a story anymore.

Lyudmila, 35 years old, Ulyanovsk

This year I decided to try to plant Zhuravinka. I bought 10 pieces of small potatoes. After landing, my kids became interested in them. I didn't keep track of them, so they dug up half and roasted them over the fire.

But from those that remained in the ground, I collected almost two buckets of large, good potatoes. We tried to cook it to test its taste - I liked it. Now I store the rest for seeds.

I think it will be good potatoes, although what kind of vegetable grower I am.

Margarita, 32 years old, Saratov

I just adore Zhuravinka. There is a lot of starch in it, so it boils down so that sometimes nothing remains of the potato itself. Stored very well, this is an additional plus. However, it is late, and they are usually well kept. He loves the earth to be loose. Better to plant it separately from others. In order not to be confused and not removed ahead of time.

Elizaveta, 36 years old, Volkhov

We are constantly testing different varieties of potatoes in order to choose the best ones for ourselves. For several years she planted Belarusian varieties, including Zhuravinka. Basically, the varieties did not fit our rather harsh climate, gave a meager harvest, and the tubers themselves did not come out in size. I was only pleased with the Zhuravinka variety - it turned out to be the most productive.

Under each bush, there were constantly at least 20 tubers, although their size was small. It turned out to be also resistant to scab and late blight in tubers. But late blight from the leaves tried to get down all the time - I had to pick off the leaves. Of its shortcomings, it can only be noted that it requires planting only in a sunny place. No partial shade.

And in dry weather, it needs watering.

Although Zhuravinka's potatoes came to Russia from Belarus, they are quite popular throughout the country because of their yield and excellent taste.

Lada potato variety description. Seed potatoes.

I'll start from the beginning, last year I was interested in what potato seeds are for. After all, we propagate potatoes with tubers. And why there is a decline in yield. And I read that potatoes tend to degenerate and must be "turned over" to their original state. For these purposes, seeds are used. Which appear after the flowering of potatoes in place of flowers. I looked in the net and read. That these seeds are planted and the so-called planting potatoes appear from them. Free from diseases and other ailments. Without thinking twice, I decided to order seeds on the Internet for potatoes Lada F1. High yield for all regions. I ordered 20 packets of seeds. And bought another 10 packets locally. I sowed at the beginning of April and began to grow seedlings. Out of 500 seeds (25 seeds in each packet), 30 came up! in the place of not one) I planted on the site and began to wait. Dulling and periodically field. In this seedling there were 6 varieties of potatoes. Instead of one Lada. 5 varieties I slowly bent, but one bloomed, grew and expanded. The volume of this bush reached me 1 meter! He gave 6 pieces of berries with seeds. And he decided to end his life. Dried. And so I decided to dig it up. The result is in a bush-35 potatoes, total weight 2 kg 200 g. Where 2 kg-large potatoes. And 200 g of little things that are not worth talking about. That is, the first stage of the experiment was justified. Since I read that in one bush there should be 1.5-1.9 kg of potatoes. Stage 2 remains. According to the description, from planting 1 potato, exactly as many potatoes should grow as there were in the planting potato bush. That is, in my case, 35 potatoes weighing 250-300 grams. This year I also collected seeds from my potatoes. This year I also planted seeds right in the ground, for the sake of interest. They have risen, faded. Now the "berries" are being poured. Also, who decides to do the same, do not forget that potatoes must be selected for your region. And in this case, it is better to take seeds from your potatoes. But you can also prescribe on the Internet. Only in this case, do not be upset if you do not have all the seedlings will survive and give a normal result, since it is not known what varieties are shoved there. Next year I want to try to "knock over" strawberries in this way. I collected seeds.

Revenge potato variety. General characteristics of the variety

An excellent high-yielding variety for open ground. The plant is mid-season - yields a harvest in 110 - 125 days. The bushes are well-developed, powerful, the tubers are round-oval, they are distinguished by a surprisingly strong, very smooth skin and small "sharpened", very sparse eyes. The color of the skin is white, the flesh is light yellow, the average weight of the fruit is 90 - 130 grams, the maximum is 300 - 400 grams. The commercial qualities of the tubers are high: they are stored for a long time, perfectly withstand transportation without losing their presentation, and are suitable for preparing various dishes. The taste of tubers is rich, starchy, they satisfy hunger well. When growing potatoes "Revenge" from seeds, you will receive edible tubers only in the second year. In the first year, you will grow a potato set, a kind of small round nodules. Potato seeds, in contrast to seed tubers, allow you to get healthy, very high-quality planting material, without any genetic or other diseases.

Features of the potato "Revenge":

  • The variety is flexible to growing conditions, adapts well to the weather. Highly resistant to golden nematode.
  • Potatoes, due to their dense skin, are resistant to mechanical damage, and are distinguished by long shelf life.
  • It can be used both in home cooking and in industrial processing, for example, for the production of "Greek potatoes", drying for chips, the production of starch, ethanol, etc.

Miner potato variety. Potato history

Potato Miner has its own unique description of the variety, photos and reviews. This information can be found in this publication. All of us are familiar with the following saying - potatoes are the second bread. Without this vegetable, it is very difficult for us to imagine many different dishes. Potatoes are also the main part of any dish, or they are eaten as a side dish. It is believed that we owe the appearance of potatoes on the Russian table to Peter the Great. But still, people in our country began to eat this vegetable only in 1839. And before this period, everyone perceived the vegetable as an ornamental culture.

At about the same time, breeders began to work on potatoes. Grachev E.A. was able to achieve very great success. thanks to his work, such a potato variety appeared in Russia as an early rose. He is still very popular in our country among vegetable growers. You can easily find him on personal plots.

Academician N.I. Vavilov played a significant role in the development of the newest varieties of potatoes in Russia. This is a very famous scientist. Thanks to him, many discoveries were made in breeding science. Mustache, without exception, the varieties that are withdrawn are immediately entered into the state register.

Today, the state register contains 426 types and varieties of potatoes.

The oldest cultivar cultivar is Lorkh. It can be grown in 12 climatic zones of Russia. This zoning is the main feature of our large country, since each of the territories has its own parameters and weather conditions. They must be taken into account when choosing a particular variety for cultivation.

Description of the Gornyak variety

The potato miner was able to take a worthy place in the vegetable growing of our country. The characteristic has the following properties:

  1. The variety is medium early. Its ripening time is 65 to 80 days.
  2. Starch content. It is the main characteristic of potatoes. it ranges from fifteen percent to seventeen.
  3. The shape of the vegetable is round. The average weight of one tuber ranges from one hundred to two hundred grams. But in some cases, it can reach 1 kg. Basically, from one potato bush of this variety, you can collect from seven to twelve tubers. The peel of the vegetable is yellowish, the pulp has a light yellow tint.
  4. Good yield of the variety. From 1 hectare can be harvested from 170 to 270 quintals of potatoes. The biggest record was recorded. it amounted to 465 centners.
  5. Potatoes of the Gornyak variety have excellent qualities for the consumer: a wonderful rich taste. This feature of the vegetable allows it to be used in cooking. Mostly it is boiled or fried. In this case, the taste of potatoes only gets better.
  6. The ability of the variety to long-term storage. The keeping quality level is 98 percent. This variety is used in cooking. But due to the high starch content in tubers, potatoes can be used in the chemical industry and pharmaceuticals. We recommend growing this variety in the Ural and Volga-Vyatka regions. In this case, there is a high yield of this variety of potatoes in other climatic zones of Russia. this, in turn, allows us to say about excellent adaptation to the harsh climatic conditions of our country.

The best early ripening varieties

Harvesting on potato plots planted with varieties from the group of early ripening is carried out after 1.5 months. The most popular from this list was Zhukovsky early, with its large, attractive tubers.

These early-maturing potatoes contain little starch, so they retain their firmness after boiling. The landing is usually started in early May. During the warm summer season, you can grow 2 crops.

Important! The main advantage of early ripening varieties is that they are rarely affected by fungal diseases.

Below is a brief description of the most popular varieties of the early maturing group.

  1. Zhukovsky early. Plantations of this early-ripening potato are easy to find in Siberia, in the North-West of the country. It was bred by our scientists, ripens in 60 days, increasing the yield to 60 t / ha. The potatoes are pink, the inside is white. Oval tubers reach 150 g and contain 15% starch. Cancer-resistant, well resistant to nematodes, endowed with strong immunity.
  2. Izora. Potatoes with excellent consumer reviews, table potatoes, quite fruitful. The tubers have time to ripen in 2 months. The bushes are medium, with slightly dissected leaves. The flowers are white. Thickened stems. Fruits are round, whitish. The inside is white, contains 10-12% starch. Potatoes can be stored for a long time. Excellent resistance to cancer, but often suffers from late blight.
  3. Antonina. Russian variety, common in Western Siberia, table. The weight of the potatoes is close to 150 g, the shape is oval with yellow inner contents and shell. Productivity - 210-425 kg / ha.6-10 fruits are dug from the bush, which contain 16-19.5% starch. Differs in good keeping quality.
  4. Strong guy. The bushes are low, semi-spreading. The leaves are light green, small in size, moderately dissected. Smooth tubers grow under the bush, weighing up to 130 g, with a beige shell and creamy contents. In the normal season, up to 27.5 t / ha of tubers with 11% starch content are dug up. Usually 7 potatoes are dug from the bush. The variety is lazy.
  5. Anosta. Table potatoes created in the Netherlands. The bush reaches small sizes, well leafy. The stems are green. The tubers are yellow, oval, the inside is also painted in yellow tones. The eyes are small, shallow. By weight, the fruit can reach 70-134 g, starchiness - 12-15%. Anosta potatoes are unstable against late blight, they are not affected by cancer.
  6. Aerrow. A table that forms a high yield and attractive tubers that do not boil over. Potatoes are oval, above average, covered with a yellow shell, the inside is white. Arrow potatoes are able to resist late blight, scab, nematodes.
  7. Kholmogorsky. An early ripe hybrid form of a table destination. The flowers are lilac, and the tubers are red. Potatoes weigh 120 g, oval in shape, with a smooth shell and a yellow inside. Does not darken during cooking. Medium-yielding, from 1 hectare harvested up to 390 centners. Kholmogory potatoes are not affected by viral pathogens, cancer.

Growing features

Revenge potatoes are very picky about growing conditions. For the formation of tubers, he needs suitable conditions.

Watering schedule

The frequency of watering depends on the soil and the growing region. The culture tolerates drought well, but despite this, the minimum amount of watering is 3 times a season. It should be borne in mind that the sandy soil quickly loses moisture, so the potatoes need to be watered more often. If this is not done, then the Revenge tubers will not match the description.

Regardless of the soil on which the potatoes are grown, they are watered after germination, during the flowering period and after it. Water consumption per 1 sq. m area - about 50 liters. Use only warm water warmed up in the sun.

If during the period of tuber formation there is a drought, then the potatoes are additionally watered. It is most effective to install a drip irrigation system, since sprinkling is contraindicated for bushes. It promotes the development of fungal diseases.

Loosening, weeding, hilling

After the appearance of the entrances, the first loosening of the soil is carried out, combining it with hilling and weeding. This helps to eliminate up to 80% of weeds. The procedure is best done after rain or heavy watering.

Shoots are piled up when they rise 15 cm above the soil level. After that, the procedure is repeated after 15 days. The main condition is that the potatoes should not bloom. The third time hilling is carried out, if necessary. The tubers should not be visible from the ground, so they are covered with a layer of soil or straw.

Do I need to feed

To maintain the yield of potatoes, they need to be fed. Especially if the soil has not previously been prepared according to all the rules. Top dressing is applied 3 times:

  • one month after landing
  • during bud formation
  • immediately after flowering.

The first time they are fed with liquid organic matter. You can also use a solution of urea or mullein. For each bush, 500 ml of nutrient solution is enough.

It is better to add potassium sulfate or wood ash before flowering. It can be sprinkled under bushes, then well loosened and watered.
